More about bee-Atified
|
Our hard working bees are extremely productive foraging on the diverse flora of the fields, forests and hedgerows of West Buckinghamshire.
We sell our delicious pure Bee-atified honey at the Marsh Gibbon Farmers Market on the third Sunday of the month, and at various local retailers. You can also buy honey directly from us at our online store with the option of either delivery or collection from our base in Steeple Claydon. To beatify means to make extremely happy. It can also mean to have attained the blessedness of heaven. We therefore thought Bee-atified was a fitting name for our honey for both these definitions. Our hope is that the honey will indeed make you extremely happy and maybe even give you a little taste of heaven! We also like the association the name carries to beekeeping's monastic history. For centuries monasteries have played an important role in the production of honey, bees wax and mead and the development of beekeeping practices. The amazing Buckfast queens we produce at BHP Queens were even pioneered by the Benedictine Monk, Brother Adam of Buckfast Abbey in Devon! Alongside our honey we love to make use of our bees beautiful golden beeswax to create unique hand crafted candles. We have a range of various moulded candles, home blended beeswax scented candles, and traditional dipped pure beeswax candles. |
Our Apiaries
Our hives are located in six apiary sites around our base in West Buckinghamshire. Each site has a variety of flora giving the bees plenty of nectar and pollen through the seasons. Our woodland sites have a plentiful supply of tree blossom including Lime, Sycamore, Horse Chestnut and Sweet Chestnut. Our farmland sites are usually in range of Oil Seed Rape for the early season flow and also have a plentiful supply of forage from wild flower meadows and hedgerow blossom including Blackthorn, Hawthorn, Crab Apple and Bramble.
